Ontario Winter Games Campaign
Allair Media Group was contracted by the Town of Bracebridge and Explorers’ Edge, our Regional Tourism Organization, to enhance the economic benefit of the 2014 Ontario Winter Games, which were hosted by Bracebridge in partnership with nearby communities. With the goal of increasing tourism revenues throughout the winter season, the campaign promoted special hospitality packages, marketing Muskoka as a prime winter destination to the visitors attending the Games: primarily the friends, family, coaches, and officials travelling to Muskoka from throughout the province with the young participating athletes.
The deliverables of the project included the creation of Extended Stay Packages with local accommodation providers throughout Muskoka and Georgian Bay; the design and development of a dedicated landing page on the Ontario Winter Games website; the creation and delivery of editorial and visual content for online, print, and radio channels; the facilitation of an e-blast campaign throughout the province; the design and print of an engaging rack card for distribution preceding and throughout the Games; the implementation of a Facebook advertising campaign; and outreach to local and provincial organizations for collaborative support.
Allair Media created a timeflow chart, budget, and work plan categorizing the tasks into three components: research and preparation, industry engagement strategies, and development of marketing tools. A comprehensive marketing platform was created and implemented, with a high degree of positive response. Measurable economic benefit was achieved, both in the short term and long term, while a spirit of collaboration was nurtured among the municipal and provincial organizations that supported the campaign.
